Homeland Security Television's Threat Matrix is HSTV's regular training and education documentary program. The goal of the Threat Matrix is to bring traditional, high-quality journalism and compelling storytelling to bear on important training and education topics for homeland security professionals.

The Threat Matrix was developed by HSTV Executive Producer, Dan Verton. A former intelligence officer and author of several books on security and terrorism, Verton brings valuable experience and knowledge of national security issues to each production of The Threat Matrix.

You won't find this combination of expertise and journalistic excellence anywhere else in the homeland security media industry. But unlike the mainstream media, HSTV works hard to never divulge information that could help the terrorist enemy. In fact, HSTV is a trusted production partner for a major homeland security contractor that is responsible for training and education of DHS employees.

HSTV also produced sensitive training videos for AMTRAK's elite Counterterrorism Units, including high-risk footage of live-fire "shoothouse" operations. And while this production was slated for a Threat Matrix episode, HSTV agreed to withhold the program at the request of AMTRAK's executive leadership.

The Threat Matrix is about education and awareness for those who are trying to protect us, not investigative reporting at any cost.
